Dog friendly walking routes in Lytham St Annes

St Annes Beach

St Annes beach is just on our doorstep and it’s a great place for the pups to burn off some energy! Not only does the beach look stunning and well maintained, on a clear day, you can see some amazing views of Southport!

In the summer months, there are restrictions in place for dogs visiting the main area of the beach, so it’s worth checking out the information before visiting. There is still a large amount of beach that can be enjoyed with dogs during the summertime.

Lytham Hall

The beauty of Lytham Hall will not disappoint and there’s plenty of space for your dog to enjoy. In some areas of the grounds, such as eating areas, you will need to keep your dog on a lead. Lytham Hall is a picturesque Georgian House, covering 80 acres of land that your dog can run free in. If you are unsure where your dog is allowed when visiting, ask a member of staff who can advise.

Lytham Hall is just a short journey away from our dog friendly accommodation, or you can take a nice long walk through St Annes and Ansdell.

Fairhaven Lake

Fairhaven Lake is the perfect midpoint between Lytham and St Annes, the salt water lake and pathway runs across 48 acres. Dogs must remain on leads while visiting but there’s plenty of attractions to see like the Spitfire Memorial.

Ashton Gardens

Just up the road from us is the lovely Ashton Gardens that’s full of history with the Lytham St Annes War Memorial. This small, family area is full of beautiful blooms and various paths to help you get around on your dog friendly walk. Dogs must remain on leads throughout.

Witch Wood

If you’re looking for a peaceful walk through Lytham St Annes, Witch Wood is a great option for you and your furry friend. There’s plenty of shade thanks to nature and even history throughout. The route was named after the Clifton Family’s horse, ‘The Witch’ who sadly died on the route and actually has a gravestone there.

After you’ve spent the day exploring the local area of Lytham St Annes, you’ll be glad to retreat back to the comfort of your home away from home here at Howarth House. Grab a bowl of water for your furry friend and let them relax, ready for another day of exploring the great outdoors. Treat yourself to a movie night and relax inside our cosy hotel in Lytham St Annes.
